SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 2/6 Groomer Ken was out this evening on the Raco Powerline, 889 and the Bay Mills Connector. We ran into him while we were out riding. We saw lots of traffic out there on the sleds today, combined with a few inches of new snow and warmer temps. This will slowly diminish lake effect snow showers from west to east. It will also help usher in a warm and mostly dry period. It was an extremely busy weekend but overall the trails held up really well. We got a little snow last night, more today, continuing through the night so that will really help, especially south of m28 where it was getting thin. Postings From Regional Pages On Facebook

Good morning all!
Yesterday and overnight Lane was out on the 472 to 480 loop, Dennis did the 49 and 494 loop, and the Bryan did the city trails and down 49 to 8 mile. The kinross crew did 49 up to 8 mile.
Everything is in great shape with the 4-5” of fresh snow that we received over the past couple of days.

Everything should be back in shape this morning, with the exception of 49 from 3 mile to 8 mile.
Warren was out last night on trail 8 from Raco to the Soo and it’s looking awesome!

“Great to see trails getting a lot of use . Spile Dam to the Soo 480/ 8 are back in shape, electric lines are flat and fast . Super Bowl kept traffic down and tbey should freeze real well 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾”

What a weekend! Trails were super busy!
Brimley Bill was out yesterday on his run on part of 480, part of 8, and the 889 loop. The pics are from his run.
Big shout out to our Raco crew for stepping up again to help with trail 8 all the way to the Soo. With all of the commitments our Soo volunteers had with the race, we needed some help from the Soo to Brimley and they stepped in for us. Thank you Raco Dave and crew!!
The city trails are going to be rough today and will be done tonight.
472/480 out of Kinross are also rough and should be done today.
All other trails should be fair to good.
