KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports….
It’s a very busy weekend in the Keweenaw! Today the KSC is hosting the first annual “Fun Run”. There is a groomer for riders to checkout at the start. The Fun Run starts at 11:00am at the location of the new groomer barn – the corner of Spruce St and Osceola Rd in Calumet. The group will take off and head to Cliff View on trail 3, right before it intersects with trail 124, if heading north on 3. They will then head to Fletchy’s Otter Belly Lodge in Eagle Harbor for food and fun! If you can’t make it to the start, please feel free to try to meet up with the group along the way!
The Masters Racing Hillclimb event is also taking place at Whealkate Bluff. You can access this event from trail 3 in South Range. A groomer will also be at this location that riders can checkout!
Tomorrow, Sunday, the Valley Sno Drifters will be hosting their annual spaghetti dinner at Dreamland Restaurant & Bar. The Valley Sno Drifters maintain the Dreamland trails. If you have never had the opportunity to ride these trails, I highly recommend trying them someday. You can pick up the Dreamland Trail right off of trail 122 where it intersects with Sawmill Creek Rd. The trail is narrow and winds through the woods for about 10 miles before reaching Dreamland Restaurant & Bar!
Sean, Lexi and Tom Diederich rode 180 miles on the KSC trails yesterday and Sean said, “Trails are fantastic!” They stopped at Eagle Harbor Inn, Lac La Belle Lodge / Bear Belly Pit Stop and ended their day eating a delicious fish dinner at The Mosquito Inn! Thanks for sharing your beautiful photos Sean!
For real time grooming updates, download the Groomer Tracker App and subscribe to the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club trail system. There is a nominal $10 fee and the club receives half of the amount to help with costs of maintaining the trail system! Hope you all enjoy your weekend wherever you are riding!

FROM Great Lakes Weather & Climate >> 📡 Statewide radar loop through 10 AM today (11/9) shows our two distinct snowmakers in progress. The first one is the synoptic (aka "system") snow associated with a low that is moving east through southern Ohio. The counterclockwise flow around the low is shown over Metro Detroit as moisture interacts with decreasing temps, leading to this morning's snowfall. Over the U.P. and Lake Michigan, the north winds are ushering in the coldest air of the season, which activates lake effect snow and transitions to the second portion of this snow event. Counties in the corner of southwest lower Michigan, northern Indiana and Illinois are set to receive a firehose of lake effect over the next 24-36 hrs, resulting in accumulations that could push one foot. Portions of northern lower Michigan and the Saginaw Bay region are also set to receive lake effect snowfall through this evening, with amounts of 3-6 inches possible, with isolated higher amounts. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup #newberry #soo #gaylord#cadillac #traversecity #petoskey...
