NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via North Store Follow Me Outfitters We have snow up to your hips and on a short person shoulder to neck deep. EPIIC!!!! If you haven’t seen deep snow in Michigan head north. Yooper Out….eh!! … <> NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via TASA January 27, 2022 12:00pm EMERGENCY ALERT: There have been truck and trailers parked in the Landing Zone at the corner of the Charcoal Grade and Laurel Lake Rd. This space is POSTED LANDING ZONE!! The space was created by the DNR for Emergency Helicopter Medivac situations in the event of an accident. Please do not park in the Landing Zone! Traffic Hazard: When leaving the staging area in town and going past the Logging Museum snowmobiles must ride with the flow of traffic. This means if you are going North ride the East side of the road and when returning South ride the West side of the road. Ride with the flow of traffic. Please and Thank You! Greetings from the Great White North. We picked around 4 inches last night and Lake Effect has kicked in today. Updates are listed below. As always we want to encourage safe and responsible riding!! Please ride with caution. Stay on the Trail!! Ride Right and Be Safe!! Please be respectful of private property, howbeit it fields or peoples front yards. Curfew in the Village of Newberry is 11:00pm to 7:00am. All three machines are up and running Trail 9: Groomed to Holland Lake last night and are headed that way again already today. Very good! Trail 45: Groomed last night and will groom again tonight around 5:00pm. Very good. CAUTION AREA!!!! There is logging off of Trail 45 before Camp Snort. Trial 9/2 South: Groomed to Trout Lake last night and are grooming down to Epoufette tonight around 5:00pm. Very Good! Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!! Light snow will accompany the front but generally less than an inch is expected. Behind the front temperatures will fall into the single digits above and below zero. This combined with gusty winds will bring wind chills down into the teens and twenties below zero. A Cold Weather Advisory is in effect for Gogebic and Iron counties tonight through Saturday morning. Lake effect snow will develop behind the front in the northwest wind snowbelts with several inches expected. 10 degrees this morning and cloudy. Mother Nature FINALLY blessed us with a good dumping of snow! We have picked up a solid foot or more in the last 36 hrs. and its been COLD.
Following up from my last report......the tech did finally make it out and went through our computer problems on all 3 machines. 2 of them are up and runnin good now and we just got the parts we need for the third one and that will be good to go today. Now, on to whats been happinin with the trails......
Yesterday we took 2 machines with 4 guys but no drags and headed south on trail #8. We skipped the swamp just south of town and started at the river mouth. We ran across just some minor water holes at the south end of the power line and a touch more severe in the Federal Forest section. We kept the gates closed in the Federal Forest section to give that a chance to tighten up.
Tomorrow we are gonna send the same set up around the Point Trails #452 & #453. The other machine will hit the Pine Stump trail #8 doing a full groom. After we see how all that goes we will hit the Falls trail #45 hopefully by the end of the week. I`m sure ya`ll have seen we have a slight warm up coming this Tues. for a couple days so that will dictate what we do on the Falls trail and the Swamp south of town.

So ya, took off at 6 all cognetoie thinking I'd just focus and pay attention to the task at hand tonight but see we've been spotted, evidence from several places were out here, could be the lights, it is orange, dunno but it didn't work! 😂
Anyway, 4th season playing with one of these and I can tell you it's been a perfect storm 😁 of continuous snow, temps, and all of you working with us to leave the snow on the corners for us to squish, ( See how wide and Flat they're building up!!) I just turned south at Wolf Inn, if we get this 7" Carl Bonac says "anything close to the Soo" , that's us right? 😉 we could used it but is pretty awesome right now, no complaints here! Actually belive this keeps up, we will make the cover of Better Cabins & Trails this year 😎
