We did groom last night. It would appear there is more snow coming Friday night and through next week off and on. The track of the system moving through this weekend has changed multiple hours throughout the day. We could potentially get dumped on or we could end up with a few inches. We are watching this one closely. There are good spots and there are bad spots, along with a lot of traffic. Certainly still early season riding conditions. As always we want to encourage safe and responsible riding!! Please ride with caution.
Ride Right and Be Safe!!
Trail 9: Groomed last night and will groom again tonight. Newberry to the Wolf Inn is Fair. The Wolf Inn North is Fair to Good.
Trail 45: Trail is Fair and was not groomed last night. We will run Trail 45 tonight to County Road 500. We will not open the gate to the Falls until we can access the conditions of the swamp. However there is a CAUTION AREA!!!! There is logging off of Trail 45 before Camp Snort. The gate across the marsh to the FALLS is still closed.
Trial 9/2 South: Groomed last night. Newberry to Rexton and down to Epoufette. Good. We passed close to 70 sleds last night.
We should have the third groomer up and running here shortly and will groom all three trails late this afternoon and through the night.
Your grooming team from the TASA Barn!!
Curfew in the Village of Newberry is 11:00pm to 7:00am.

PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 3/19/26 29 degrees this morning and cloudy. Here`s what went on with the trails yesterday, and a couple of other things....... Groomer Keith ran the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9. He had a good battle with all the drifting in "Siberia" but made it thru. It turned out good but he is gonna run it again today to clean up. I ran the South trail #8 and it turned out good also. Today we are hittin the Point trails #452 & #453 and the Pine Stump trails again. Now, here`s the couple of other things. We are down one machine still. The mechanic thinks he`s got it figured out and is sending us a part. We will install it and hopefully that does it. If not he can get here tomorrow. In fact, I think he`s coming tomorrow anyhow to run a computer scan on the whole system now that I think about it. I explained this yesterday in my report and I thought I was pretty clear but I`m still hearing questions so here ya go again.....THE SWAMP SOUTH OF TOWN AND NORTH OF THE RIVER MOUTH IS CLOSED!!!! It is ribboned off cause the gate is buried in snow. THE FALLS TRAIL #45 IS RIDEABLE BUT WE ARE DONE GROOMING IT!!!! If we went in there with a machine we would break it up and it would be unridable. Its gonna be rough but at least you can ride it. Simple as that, it is what it is and we can`t do nuttin about the low lands. Soooo.......there ya have it.......we`ll keep going until the weather won`t let us or until the end of the month with the other sections of trail. Groomer Chris #paradise #newberry ... WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Final snowfall totals have been released from our blizzard of March 15th-17th, 2026 here in Michigan. Do note, some locations are approximated due to data gaps in the Upper Peninsula..... #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyFinal snowfall totals have been released from our blizzard of March 15th-17th, 2026 here in Michigan. Do note, some locations are approximated due to data gaps in the Upper Peninsula.
No doubt the forecast lived up to its insanity, with many locations getting over 40" of snow across the central Upper Peninsula, and 8-10 foot snow drifts to make things even more extreme. In terms of forecast verification, our forecast did hit the 80%+ accuracy threshold we strive for after each event. Our final verification was 83%, and most of the the misses were where the system shifted slightly south to give parts of the northern Lower Peninsula greater than 24", and parts of the western Upper Peninsula much less. Anything over 18" of snow is just "a lot" at this point anyways, so we aren't stressing too badly about the miss in the Lower Peninsula near the Mackinac Bridge. Lake effect zones in SW Michigan did verify, as text was featured under the forecast that a couple spots would see locally higher amounts.
Overall, this will be a storm we won't soon forget, which adds to the list of wild weather we've experienced in Michigan over the last two weeks. If you have any additional snowfall reports to add to the list that are not affected by drifting, drop them in the comments below here on X or Facebook. A new two-day record was also broken at the NWS office in Marquette of 36"+ with this blizzard, which is just one record smashed by this blizzard. ... See MoreSee Less
NEWBERRY AREA UPDATE via Pine Stump >> After a couple days of plowing I’m making progress!!! Lots almost done still some big drifts to dig out!!! I’m guessing we got between 30and 36 inches out of the storm A lot of 4-6 foot drifts. I spotted a 8ft drift hiding Everyone be careful and have fun.
