GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 03/12 From Emmett about 1 pm-Plains got a nice blizzard going on. From Jack out on the groomer right now. All of our trails will be assessed today. The town trail is a NO GO. You’d have to trailer out to the trail head. Trail 8 west. Good snow grooming up. Couple inches of fresh snow helped. Uncertainty still remains where this snowband will park, however, heavy snowfall rates will likely create difficult travel along US-41 from Delta to Marquette/Alger counties. Tonight, widespread snow transitions to lake effect snow for the north wind snowbelts. Around 4 inches of snow last night. I see the groomers all made it out. I would guess the trails should freeze up flat now.
I would imagine it will be lower traffic during the week. It would be a pretty good week to ride if you can sneak away! #newberry #snowphotos
