KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 03/07 Jim Sheets and Sony Shannon Sheets rode Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula this weekend and shared these photos and words. Sony Shannon Sheets said, “Pictures or videos do this place absolutely no justice!! It’s so beautiful!! Thank you to the groomers for keeping the trails amazing. Thank you to my husband for an awesome experience.” We couldn’t agree more, it’s hard to capture all the beauty in a photo, but you took some amazing photos! Thank you for sharing! <> KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports – 03/04 Just a quick video of Keweenaw running 2 machines from Mohawk to Toivola. Well it turns out Trent Seorum
was not the only one that took advantage of the 5 inches of fresh snow that fell on the 27th and 28th.....
Robbie and Molly Tobin Burk
brought their daughters up to Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula for their first time ever and for their last family ride of the season! This was not just a quick rip on the trails.... the family put on 140 miles!
Robbie messaged me and said, “Was blessed this year for sure....Mother Nature delivered fresh White Gold for us to get one last Family ride in and boy was it BREATHTAKING !!
The Beauty of the Keewenaw Peninsula taught my girls how important it is to just take some time and soak it all in and take advantage of what mother nature has to offer us !!
(This was thier first visit to Keewenaw)
I thought I'd share some pics of our adventures with you as I know you are also a big fan of the Keewenaw Peninsula, 140 miles worth of smiles the last two days. We ended up driving the truck, (the snow started getting too thin)to The Mariner North
for a great meal! The girls want to come back next year for sure. We are headed back home tomorrow in the a.m from Calumet.
FYI....we had the woods to ourselves however we did cross paths with Trent Seorum yesterday..lol 😂”
Absolutely beautiful photos Robbie and Molly! Thank you so much for sharing! I’m certain others are just as jealous as I am! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
Trent Seorum
actually got out for a ride today after the small amount of fresh snow fell last night.... late season riding like this might not be be for everyone.... but Trent enjoyed his ride and shared these photos and a quick review of trails ....
“Got out for a ride after the dusting of snow last night. Left from Cliff Drive and headed north to Copper Harbor. I took Brockway on the way there and looped out towards High Rock on the way back taking trail 134 back to trail 3. Brockway and a good portion of the grade would be unrideable without the dusting of snow but where 134 splits off 3 toward high rock is flat and fast with the best snow of all trails ridden today.”
Thanks for sharing Trent! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
They are definitely some of the hardest messages for me to answer and this year was no different. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to personally describe conditions and share others descriptions, to help people make the decisions for themselves ..... so far it seems everyone has made choices and been happy.
Robert Oberdorfer and crew decided it was “worth it” to them and made a trip up. Robert shared a few photos with us and said, “We made it! Just like you said, not perfect but definitely rideable. We were not disappointed. We rode 115 miles and had a great day! Thank you!”
Thank YOU for sharing your photos and letting me know that you made the decision to chance it and come up! Hopefully you will be able to ride Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula next season with much better conditions! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
Sean Diederich decided the season was not over in his eyes and came up to Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula
to ride!
These are the photos Sean shared. Sean said, “Italian beefs for lunch!! Trails aren't bad. Trailered to Vansville Bar
. Some bare spots here and there but trail 124 was pretty dam good. 3 not so much.”
Thanks for sharing Sean!
📝 Note: There may still be a good number of people out there riding and I am sharing some of their reviews and photos.....BUT..... this IS late season riding! Conditions would not be ideal for a lot of people, however those knowing fully what to expect feel it is “worth it” to them! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
Well Adam Garvey was definitely one of the first out riding at the beginning of the season and it appears he is working on being one of the last.....
Adam shared these beautiful photos and said, “Everyone keeps saying it’s over, I’m going to say it’s ALMOST over. The trails north of Phoenix where hard and fast this morning...(note I did not say smooth). Trail 134 is by far the best riding! Would I recommend people trailer up here, absolutely not, but if you are fortunate enough to have the Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula in your back yard there is still time for one last braap! 😉”
W🤩W! Thanks for making everyone else extremely jealous of how you are spending your day! I’m determined to join you on the last ride of the season yet Adam! 😉
I would really like to give Adam a huge “thank you”for always being willing to go out and “take one for the team” by riding and reviewing conditions! It’s a huge help to many riders Adam! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
Jojo Belanger and son shared photos and said, “ANOTHER great day of riding! We stayed south of the bridge today and didn’t see 1 other person! Trails were smooooth! The wet area is on trail 13 on the way to Greenland . It was no problem crossing. It was an adventure! It’s been such a great week up here! Thank you for everything!”
Thank you SO much for sharing your beautiful photos! This is now the 3rd extra day that you extended your trip....right?! I love it! I hope you come back to Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula next year in the middle of the season! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
VERY early yesterday morning I received a message from Sharon Jones about coming up to ride from Eagle River, Wisconsin. ( I’m a complete insomniac 🙈). She wanted to know if it was worth a trip up.... that million dollar question! As I have said previously, it is SO hard to explain what could be considered “worth it” or not for someone. We messaged back and forth and I actually discouraged her from making the trip for the most part.... I explained the conditions as best I could and told her where they COULD ride IF they made the trip..... My last words from Sharon yesterday before the sun even had come up was, “Thank you very much! Appreciate all your time and efforts! It’s hard to get good information and I appreciate your time trying to help us out! Have a wonderful day!” I truly did not think they were going to make the trip!
Well, surprise to me, they decided it was “worth it” to them and made the drive VERY early! Sharon said with the time change and all getting up and going by 4:30 am was tough but again “worth it”
Sharon shared this photo from High Rock taken at about noon and said, “Thanks for all your help we had a darn good, nice time! We rode from Mohawk north on trail 3, it was choppy until the 134 turnoff and then decent until the High Rock spur. Here is a photo if you would like to share it. Thanks for your help we couldn’t have done it without you!”
Thank you SO much for sharing your experience with us so others can consider your views in addition to mine! ... See MoreSee Less
Paul Koski
posted on our page looking for someone to ride with and David Pratt messaged him and they connected for a couple of last days of riding in the 2020/21 season.
Paul is now all loaded up ready to head home and shared these beautiful photos of the days riding and comments, “ had a blast riding with David Pratt and Allie! So glad I was able to make it up here!I met a lot of great people from other riders to people who live/work here! Bear Belly Pit Stop
went ABOVE and beyond wrapping an order of delicious BBQ Mac n cheese so I could transport it on the sled! Ron at Copper Harbor Fuel Stop
-dudes a stich! Great place to fuel up and a convenience store! The crew at Slim's Cafe
down home nice and helpful! Today we rode 122 and back on trail 124! Trail 122 was bad..see photos of water on trail from David. It was passable but not easily. Trail 124 ranged from good to great! The only negative factor on 124 was bumps-no open areas! Trail 3 was good just choppy. So glad I made it up! I can’t wait to return! ”
