Munising Area Trail Report – 03/05
MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 03/05 TRAIL REPORT – Friday, 03-05-2021 STILL FAIR TO BORDER-LINE GOOD TRAIL CONDITIONS! Groomer Operators reporting fair results with no new snow. Limited snow and recent warm weather this season has given us a very hard base covered with a thin layer of soft sugary snow and some icy corners. Most of our Trail System is in Overall Fair to almost Good condition with some outlying areas in poor condition. Trail 8 from Shingleton West to Trail 417 is our best stretch of trail. Trail 417 to Brownstone Intersection and Trail 7 from 2 miles South of Christmas South to Buckhorn Road and Trail 418 are in Fair condition and a bit choppy. Trail 8 from Shingleton North for about 5 miles, Trail 7 South of Doe Lake Road and Trail 419 from Wetmore to about 2 miles Northwest of Munising are in poor condition. In the towns and along highways you will be finding dirty snow and bare spots. We did our last grooming run covering for Seney last night with decent late season results. This is again East for 14 miles on Trail 8 from the Bear Trap intersection to the Trail 43 intersection.
