HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 03/04 It’s looking like our season is coming to an end, we haven’t had any fresh snow in a week, and the days have been sunny and warm. We are done grooming unless Mother Nature throws us a curve ball and we get some snow. There are still some good sections of trail out there, but there are some bad and snirty sections. Ride with caution! <> WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> The next system looks to impact the state starting late Tuesday into early Wednesday. There is still some uncertainty with the track of this, which leads to potential changes in where mixed precipitation and snow will be seen. Just a couple weeks ago it was lake effect snow every single day. Today, a light band of 1-3" near Munising is all we will need to write home about. We even tossed in some humor for those not in a designated snowfall zone. A couple slick spots will pop up along M-28 near Munising, and perhaps around Petoskey if a longer lake effect band happens to form, but this is more unlikely than likely.
