KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 03/02 Johanna Voorhees-Hennenfent and Phil Hennenfent rode Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula yesterday and shared photos snd comments with us! Johanna said, “GREAT trails today!! Windy and chilly, but GREAT riding!! 175 miles with fantastic views snd great trails!” Today is forecasted to be A LOT warmer than yesterday…. let’s hope it’s only one day of above freezing temperatures…. <> KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports – 03/01 Todays trail report from this morning. I left the barn at 6:00 am trail 3 north was still in good shape from the night crew. 130 Eagles loop looked in good shape with very little moguls to repair but had to work some high banks in the curves. Trail 132 Lac La Belle needed a little more work but came out looking real good. Once I started back south on Trail 3 it was starting to get moguled so I cut it a little more than the other trails and it looked good also. Temps stayed between 24° – 30° and started snowing pretty good at the end of my run. So far in Toivola Ive got 7" of snow. Night time temps are still staying below freezing and days looks like it 30s ❄️ The parking lots/plowed areas around here are melting down so where ever you can find snow feel free to park your sled! Here is a update from Tim & Robin who has been here for the last few days (come up throughout the winter) ❄️ North of Houghton yesterday the trails were groomed and in good shape. Thursday we rode north it was beautiful, South of Sidnaw they do get a little more rough. Iron River is where the line is drawn really bad. They are rideable but if they haven’t groomed they’re will be mogal. Some water holes and open dirt on most trails also. But you can hit a really good 10 to 20 miles without dirt or water. ❄️ Thank you for the update!! I met this awesome group today at the Mosquito during my Meet and Greet. So I sent them down trail 109 to Alston and the second pic is what they made for me to enjoy when I groom again. Thanks for supporting Western UP Trail Reports and I hope you find me next year when your up riding.
