MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 02/19
TRAIL REPORT – Friday, 2/19/2021 EXCELLENT RIDING CONDITIONS! We received a dusting of new snow overnight and Operators reported excellent grooming results. Trails are on the lower fringe of Excellent with overall Very Good Riding conditions across our trail system. The only thing that could make them better is 6 inches of fresh snow. We have a great base building this year that is staying fairly flat between grooming runs. Please respect residential property owners and STAY ON THE TRAIL, No Snowmobile Signs mean just that. Please DO NOT run the Powerlines off of Trail 419. Our Team of volunteer Groomer Operators will continue to do their best to keep trails flat so; Get out and ENJOY the Trails Ride Safe and Stay Tuned for updates!
MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 02/17
We were blessed with about 8 inches of snow yesterday, the trail is shaping up nicely now, and with the cold Temps the two wet areas we couldn’t get through are now groomed as well.
Winds will gust 30-40mph at times blowing around new slow and fluffy snow already on the ground. Expect ground blizzards at times (wind driven, brief, white outs). ... See MoreSee Less
WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Another quickly-moving Clipper will bring a round of widespread, light snow beginning this evening, followed by lingering lake effect snow across the NW wind snow belts for Tuesday. Totals of an inch or less are expected for most of the UP, but where lake effect snow occurs, up to 2-5in of snow is possible tonight through Tuesday evening. As winds pick up early Tuesday, patchy blowing snow may contribute to reduced visibility in the NW wind snow belts.
