SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 02/09 Groomer Ken had a little helper out on 8, 480 and 889 tonight. Trails are holding up awesome with the recent snow and sub zero temps. He rates his run as excellent tonight. His view from the windshield as the sun set on his work. A clipper will spread a mix of rain, snow, and freezing rain across the area this morning, changing to all rain from west to east as temperatures climb above freezing in the afternoon, reaching as high as the mid 50s in the west. A cold front then drops across the U.P. and brings another round of mixed precip tonight, changing to all snow towards Sunday morning. Generally expect minimal snow amounts across most of the U.P., but some spots in the Keweenaw and the east could pick up 1-3” through Sunday morning. Good morning all!
Unfortunately, it stayed too warm overnight for us to send groomers out.
We are supposed to get 4-6” of snow beginning later this morning, and temps are supposed to drop late tonight, so we’ll get back out as soon as we can!
I rode last night and trails were holding up beautifully. They’ll get a little beat up today with Saturday traffic. I’ll be out riding today to check things out before I hop in the groomer tonight.

Hello again! Before the new snow overnight, Bryan was out on the city trails yesterday evening getting them into shape ahead of the weekend!
A little above freezing now, with freezing mist in some areas, but still looking amazing, especially for the first day of Spring! 😅🤯
