Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/08
It’s noon thirty in downtown Frederic on a cold and calm monday now afternoon. Been on the phone alot this morning. Yet another day without another new flake of snow. Weather still saying lake effect everyday for another week but so far it has been 4 days with no lake effect around this area. I thought about another u.p. trip this week but the snow is no better there than it is here so I guess if I am going to ride in the next day or two I might as well do it around here. Sunday sled traffic was light in Frederic and that is not unusual for superbowl sunday as everyong leaves early. This coming weekend is presidents weekend which usually brings a good crowd. Time will tell on that. The very first year I was open here in 97 I closed Valentines weekend and went to the u.p. riding because there was not a flake of snow or white here. Luckily that was the only year that happened and even if it stays the way it is the riding is what I would give an o.k rating to. We just have to take what we have. So thats it for today.
