Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/06
No time like the present to ride, conditions are much better than they have been but we still need alot of new snow to make it better. Really no new snow from all day friday till saturday morning. There was very little new lake effect as predicted in the area around grayling and frederic however the sleds are here, trailer counts this morning were 27 at the Ramada and 5 at the Days Inn. There were alot of sleds in town here yesterday and things are just getting rolling this morning.
In all the years I have been here the alley is usually full of snow with a big mountain of it for sleds to try to ride over, This season I have been plowing the alley down to the gas station which makes it easy access for sleds to get here. Sure wish I could build that pile up big enough for sleds to ride over. Pics below are from the Ramada this morning and Mohawk John who stopped in yesterday and turned out we were wearing the same shirt…..Fashion statements.
Also my rental cottage still has 3 or 4 available nights for next weekend, president weekend.
Thanks for checking in and please ride safely. Pete

WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Gaylord Michigan >> Morning clouds will clear from north to south later today as a front drops through the region, bringing partly to mostly sunny skies this afternoon. Our next round of precip chances returns tonight into Friday morning with a mix of rain and snow. Light freezing rain will be possible overnight across the eastern U.P. and far northern lower, but any glaze of ice should melt Friday morning as temperatures rise above freezing.
