TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Snowmobile Club – 02/05
It’s 10 AM Friday morning and we have received approximately 5 inches of snow. I just spoke to the groomer coordinator and he has confirmed that we will start grooming again this evening. Don’t know how this snow will affect the trails but we desperately needed it. I will try to do a report tomorrow after talking to the groomer drivers in the morning. Let’s hope it keeps snowing.

TRAVERSE CITY AREA UPDATE via Grand Traverse Area Snowmobile Club >> I know, I know, I'm late in reporting the trail conditions. Yes, the trails took a hit with the last warm up. But the good news is that we didn't receive the heavy rains as forecasted. We have a crusty, icey base still on the trails and we continue to get light flurries, but unfortunately, no accumulating snow. The trails are currently rated as poor. We need to survive this week's warmer temps and get a good dumping and we will be back in business. The GTASC groomer drivers will be ready when that time comes. Remember when you ride, Ride Right, Ride Safe, Ride Sober. And when were able to ride, or your just out and about looking for family dining, serving breakfest, lunch and dinner, and pizza too. Please make sure you stop in at the Yankee Boy Restaurant for a bite to eat. When the snow returns, you can access them from the trail. Yankee Boy is a sponsor of the GTASC. Follow them on Facebook for their daily specials. Please support those businesses that support our sport. #traversecity#snowphotosI know, I know, I'm late in reporting the trail conditions. WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Here is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Not too impactful of a system in terms of Michigander standards, but do take it slow if you encounter any snow squalls and/or visibly slick roads. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyHere is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.
