IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 02/03 Our system of trails was groomed last night. Trail 2 from Ramsay crossing to Wakefield is thin, these are photos from that trail. Our other trails are rated fair; the warmth of the last several days and steady traffic has worn trails down. The good news is we are expecting 8-12" Thursday, 4-8" Friday and constant lake effect after that. Soooo….after today and once the snow starts trails will be in the best shape of the season! We have the deepest snow in the U.P. in our western corner and are ready for the snow gods to give up the goods! Come up for Superbowl weekend getaway and experience why the #WESTisBEST !! By tomorrow, the wintry precipitation will become more confined to the north, while showers and thunderstorms sneak into the southern counties. A few of these storms could even become strong at times with large hail. I took a trip to Rhinelander and got a few pics of the trails along the way. There's no snow in Rhinelander and very little in Eagle River. Watersmeet looks bad and doesn't start looking good until Mass City.
