Sault Ste. Marie Trail Report – 01/20
SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 01/20 Good morning! Here in the Soo, we got about 8” of new snow in the last day. We groomed the city trails last night and they are in good shape for the most part. Word is that our surrounding areas did not get as much snow as we did. A groomer went out from the Soo west to Brimley this morning and there is less snow but it groomed up well. Snow is in the forecast all week!❄️❄️❄️ <> Sault Ste. Good evening! I’m super delayed on this as I’m still out of town, but wanted to give you a visual of how things look in our area. Groomer Warren was out on the 889 loop this morning and things are looking awesome! I’m sure it’ll be a busy weekend, and we’re ready for ya! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0219 #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
Totally on accident, groomers Lane and Pete met on 49 where Lane was coming north to 7 mile, and Pete was coming south to 7 mile.
Thanks for the video, Pete! And thank you both for your time! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0218d #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
Good evening everyone!
I’m still over in the western Yoop, but our awesome operators have been checking in and keeping me informed so that I can keep you guys informed.
Groomer Pete is hitting the city route and part of 49 down to 7 mile. This part of our trail system hasn’t been done in a few days due to warm temps, but he’s going to work with the new snow and colder temps to whip them into shape.
Thank you, Pete! Great timing for the weekend! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0218c #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less

A video of what things look like this morning on 8 between Raco and Brimley.
Thanks again, Bill! ❄️❄️❄️ #soo #soo0218b #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
Good morning all!
Brimley Bill was out on trail 8 between Ranger Rd and the Soo and 480 from the Spile Dam turn around to 8. This was a 49 mile run and we so appreciate his time!
Here’s what he had to say-
“This morning (Tuesday) Jim B groomed the Mission Hill loop (889) while the temperature was still below freezing. Tonight I groomed part of 480 and 8 from Ranger Rd all the way to the Soo. Trail 8 was probably the roughest groomer ride I’ve had all season. I cut down all the bumps, but couldn’t get the snow to form a nice perfect ribbon. The trail is flat, and all ready for the snow that is in the forecast.”
Thank you, Bill and Jim! ❄️❄️❄️
Video will be in the next post. #soo #soo0218 #snowphotos ... See MoreSee Less
