SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 01/20
Good morning! Here in the Soo, we got about 8” of new snow in the last day. We groomed the city trails last night and they are in good shape for the most part. Word is that our surrounding areas did not get as much snow as we did. A groomer went out from the Soo west to Brimley this morning and there is less snow but it groomed up well. Snow is in the forecast all week!❄️❄️❄️
SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association - Just got back from our run down trail 49 from the Soo to Kinross and back today. We saw a little bit of everything. There are some really bad, muddy and bare corners while many more are still holding. Road shoulders along Mac Trail are getting pretty bare. The majority of the trail is still in really good shape. With 40 degrees in the forecast the next few days, this trail will start to deteriorate quickly. Still good for an evening ride tonight and probably into tomorrow!
SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association - Trail 8 from the Soo to Brimley shaped up nicely early this morning! Groomer Dan reports that it’s a little thin and icy on the section between 6 mile and Brimley but overall it’s in good shape. Thanks Dan! Ride safe and enjoy these trails before the big warm up this week!❄️❄️❄️ ... #soo #snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association - Pics from last nights groom of trail 8 between Brimley and Raco as well 480. There is a bit of road riding south of m28 where the road is plowed so be aware. The section through the pines back east toward Kinross is in good condition. From the Spile Dam east to Kinross also has a long stretch of road riding as well and shoulders are bare. All trails in woods are still in good shape with some snirty and icy corners. It is typical late season conditions but will most likely be the last good weekend to ride so get out there! Thank you to Groomer Warren for your efforts and to his wife Laurie for the awesome pics!... #Soo#snowphotos... See MoreSee Less

SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association - From Groomer Steve tonight out on the city trails. He says they are shaping up nicely! He also groomed trail 49 and had this to say... “Trail is bumpy from 12 Mile to Kinross. Still good snow in most places. A few tree roots/rocks/other hard objects showing up on trail. Thin base in some places. Use caution” Remember that roads and shoulders are mostly bare. Trails are somewhat hard and icy but our groomers are grabbing snow from the sides of trails to try and fill in bumps and corners where we can. It’s going to be a busy weekend, possibly one of the last for the season! Ride safe, ride right and be sure to watch for our groomers. Please thank them when you can. It’s been a tough season but they all did a phenomenal job. Big thanks to Steve and all of the volunteers who continue to sacrifice their time for our fun!❄️❄️❄️ ... #soo #snowphotos...
