SAULT STE. MARIE UPDATE via Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association – 01/16 Well, something is better than nothing! We picked up about 3” of moisture dense snow overnight and it’s still lightly snowing. Again, not enough to work with to groom but it all helps. Keep the snow dances going! ❄️❄️❄️ <> Sault Ste. Marie Snowmobile Association Trail Report on MSA <> WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> Expect mostly dry weather today through Monday as a cold front exits the U.P. this morning. A few light snow showers will be possible in the higher terrain of the western half through tonight, with minimal accumulations less than an inch. Most locations will struggle to get above freezing today, with the exception of areas near Lake Michigan. A cold front then drops across the U.P. and brings another round of mixed precip tonight, changing to all snow towards Sunday morning. Generally expect minimal snow amounts across most of the U.P., but some spots in the Keweenaw and the east could pick up 1-3” through Sunday morning. Wow! I am so pleasantly surprised how well the trails held up today!! Sugar Island Chris DID groom 8 this morning from the Soo to Brimley.
For those that have been asking, the bay in Brimley is starting to show some slushy spots.
While I wish I was hopping in the groomer, it’s just too warm and they are pretty darn good anyway!
Shout out to Mackinac County Snowmobile Association , Les Cheneaux Snowmobile Club & Grooming Report, and the Chippewa Snowchasers for their great trails today too!

Good morning all!
Unfortunately, it stayed too warm overnight for us to send groomers out.
We are supposed to get 4-6” of snow beginning later this morning, and temps are supposed to drop late tonight, so we’ll get back out as soon as we can!
I rode last night and trails were holding up beautifully. They’ll get a little beat up today with Saturday traffic. I’ll be out riding today to check things out before I hop in the groomer tonight.
