HARBOR SPRINGS AREA UPDATE via Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club – 01/15 Our trails are in bad shape, it’s rained almost all day today and has been in the high 30’s. Overall the trails are in great shape, the west side was last groomed on Monday night & we had two groomers out last night on the grade & east side of our trail system. Please slow down on trail 71/Chadderdon road in the section where they are logging. They are hoping to be out of there in about two weeks.

Overall, our trails are in great shape! The only rough section is where they are logging on 71/Chadderdon Rd. We had a groomer out on the grade last night from Pellston to Alanson & two out tonight, one on the grade from Pellston to Mackinaw & the other on the west side of our trail system. We plan to have at least one groomer out every day this week & through the weekend.
🪵 Logging Operation – Trail 71 🪵
There is still an active logging operation on Trail 71 at Chadderdon Road. Although numerous signs are posted, we are still seeing riders not slowing down.
Please use extreme caution in this area:
- Skidders and log trucks are entering and traveling on the trail
- SLOW DOWN
- If you encounter logging equipment coming toward you, get off the trail or turn around until you can safely move aside
- Do not try to go around them — they are much larger than you, cannot stop quickly, and have the right of way
Your safety (and theirs) depends on it.
