KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports – 01/15

Jeff Leary, Andy Burns and crew just shared these photos with us after enjoying a stop at Omer’s Golf Course Bar, Restaurant, and Rental Cabins of Trail 3 from Mass City to South Range.

They said, Trail 3 from Mass City to South Range was good to fair. It got ugly when we got North of South Range. There are some bare corners coming out of Mass City. We enjoyed a great lunch at Omar’s. Do your snow dances!

It’s awesome to se people out making the best out of their trips!

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - Jacob Martin
got out an rode at the perfect time last night it appears. He ran Trail 17 and Trail 3 up to The Mariner North
and caught a beautiful sunset and smooth trails all the way up!
We are looking at a warm up again for the next two days 😩. Please try to use Groomer Tracker
app for the best possible riding experience if you are up riding what is also expected to be a very busy weekend.
Note the CopperDog 150
will also be sharing some of the trails with us.... I have included a photo of the course route and approximate times the teams will be in each area. Please ride with extreme caution if approaching a musher and dogs.
Also tomorrow the Masters Racing Circuit
Hillclimbs will be going on in South Range. This is a great event! Check it out! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports - Yesterday was a perfect day to ride up Brockway and take Jessie to the look out. This was definitely the spot she remembered going to with Trev. Keep Jessie in your prayers and thank you Sarah for being a great friend and coming along. Judy and I enjoyed our day with you two and can't wait till next time.

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports - UPDATE: A special weather statement was just issued for the area... 4-8 possible on Sunday...I know, I know.... we will believe it when we see it.... but it might be better than nothing.... or wet, slushy.... might not 🤷‍♀️.
Unfortunately it is currently 43 degrees in Houghton 😩. Could someone please turn down the heat!
Adam Garvey
took a ride at about noon today and this is his view on conditions....
“Most of trail 132, 135, 134 and 3 from Phoenix north where in great shape as of noon today. I passed multiple groomers. High temps and high traffic is starting to take a toll on the trails already though. Anyone on top of Brockway Mountain
today hold on tight and watch for drifts, wind is fierce. Watch for the sled dogs on the trails this weekend and give them plenty of space when passing. I am still seeing a lot of people lost in LLB, had to explain to multiple people last week that the spur trail dead ends at Lac La Belle Lodge / Bear Belly Pit Stop
. There is lake access through my yard only, don’t trespass on the neighbors land please! I stopped for an awesome bowl of Spinach Feta soup at Eagle Harbor Inn

Thank you so much for sharing the photos snd taking the time to send a report on the trails Adam! ... #keweenaw #snowphotos
