IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 01/15 We have 1/2-1" of snow as of 6am Cst. Yesterday’s forecast had snow starting at 9am. We had additional trail feedback that the base is very thin to gone Ramsay Crossing to Wakefield, very poor. If riding before we get several inches between Bessemer & Wakefield please go slow, trails are very icy as snirt base in areas refuses to stay put. More details tonight! <> While we wait for lake effect to start, please note current conditions region wide are poor. We need snow! Damaging winds could blow down trees and power lines. Power outages are possible. Sound's like most clubs in the U.P. are experiencing the same thing.
Temp's got into the mid to upper 40's on Friday and that evening dropped into the lower teen's locking everything in tight!
(Frustrating when you aren't even able to cut down a berm back to the inside of the trail).
We have plenty of snow and the trail's are holding up but the forecast for this week looks like we'll see some more 40° days.
We aren't waving the white flag yet, but that will most likely mean limited grooming on certain days.

102 north the trail is pretty good right corners are a bit icy but overall good . Remember folks it's March and what I consider late season riding . Still time to enjoy some riding.

We have one machine finishing much needed maintenance and the tractor threw error codes last night, so we couldn't take her out. Cody groomed Trail 13, 137, 101 and Trail 12 between Potato Farm Road and the NCSC clubhouse in Ontonagon.
