KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Trail Reports – 01/09
It’s just down right ugly going thru Hancock and Houghton isn’t a whole lot better. I’ve said this before its like late March conditions just about all road crossings are wide open. Once you get away from towns its OK. Jason a buddy of mine ran down to Sidnaw/ Kenton out of Mass City today and said it was wonderful all the way. No traffic at all . ☠Stretch …

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 01/09
Our faithful daily rider Adam Garvey, has already covered most of Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula today (it’s a rough job, but somebody has to do it I guess 😂)
Adam had this to say “Snow all morning in the Keweenaw, added up to less than an inch. It did make everything white again but also covered up the icy corners. Had to pull 2 guys out of the bush this morning that slid off a corner. That said most of 134 (besides High Rock area), 132, and 130 are still in good condition, 135 is still poor, almost unrideable. Trail 122 is good, 3 from Brockway all the way down to 17 to Hancock is getting very thin. Traffic is starting to get really heavy as of noon today. Starting to find trash along the trail again too 😡……. hope everyone has a super weekend!” Thank you so much Adam for taking the tome to give that synopsis of the trail conditions and reminder to all riders to ride with caution!

WEATHER UPDATE via Michigan Storm Chasers >> Here is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025. Uncertainty exists primarily in our trace-1" category which extends from Frankfort and Alpena south to I-96/I-69. The clipper moving through today may produce a quick squall of rain & snow with minimal accumulation some time beyond 1 pm EST, but models haven't determined if this band will solidify or not. If it does, the chance for a rain/snow mix exists in areas highlighted in the pink dashed box. This rain/snow mix would only be today. Any snow on Sunday will be lake effect off of Lake Superior, hence why our highest totals of 4-8" are located east of Munising over to Paradise. Not too impactful of a system in terms of Michigander standards, but do take it slow if you encounter any snow squalls and/or visibly slick roads. #miweather #keweenaw#westernup#marquette#munising #seney #newberry #soo #straitsarea#gaylord#cadillac#benzie#traversecity#petoskeyHere is our last call for ongoing system snow and lake effect snow from now through Sunday evening at 6 pm EST, December 20th & 21st, 2025.
