January 7, 2021 20 degrees this morning under a clear blue sky. This is the first morning in the last 4 that it has been in the 20`s. The day time highs have been into the 30`s so ya`ll can guess what the trails look like. We do still have around 5-6 inches of snow on the ground though. It does look like the weather will turn around by mid to late next week. Not sure if we`ll be able to salvage MLK weekend. Its usually a big weekend for us. We`ll need a foot plus for this to happen.
Needless to say, we haven`t got the groomers out since last Saturday. We have been busy out to da barn just working on stuff. I`m headin out there today to sand and paint on the drags some more. Ain`t no fun but something to do.
I am NOT in a good mood cause of this weather. The blankety blank weather guessers seem to be enjoying this crap but don`t they realize we live UP north cause we like the snow? I wish they would keep their opinions to themselves!!!
Just thought I would jump on here since I haven`t been giving you any updates in the last few days. Hopefully the next report will be more positive.
LET `ER SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Groomer Chris
PARADISE AREA UPDATE via Paradise Area Night Riders www.paradiseareanightriders.org >> 3/19/26 29 degrees this morning and cloudy. Here`s what went on with the trails yesterday, and a couple of other things....... Groomer Keith ran the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9. He had a good battle with all the drifting in "Siberia" but made it thru. It turned out good but he is gonna run it again today to clean up. I ran the South trail #8 and it turned out good also. Today we are hittin the Point trails #452 & #453 and the Pine Stump trails again. Now, here`s the couple of other things. We are down one machine still. The mechanic thinks he`s got it figured out and is sending us a part. We will install it and hopefully that does it. If not he can get here tomorrow. In fact, I think he`s coming tomorrow anyhow to run a computer scan on the whole system now that I think about it. I explained this yesterday in my report and I thought I was pretty clear but I`m still hearing questions so here ya go again.....THE SWAMP SOUTH OF TOWN AND NORTH OF THE RIVER MOUTH IS CLOSED!!!! It is ribboned off cause the gate is buried in snow. THE FALLS TRAIL #45 IS RIDEABLE BUT WE ARE DONE GROOMING IT!!!! If we went in there with a machine we would break it up and it would be unridable. Its gonna be rough but at least you can ride it. Simple as that, it is what it is and we can`t do nuttin about the low lands. Soooo.......there ya have it.......we`ll keep going until the weather won`t let us or until the end of the month with the other sections of trail. Groomer Chris #paradise #newberry ...
