KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 01/05
Good morning! We received a dusting of fresh snow over night…. nothing to brag about and there is nothing in the forecast for the next week unfortunately. That being said the temps staying in the low 30s during the day and colder at night are helping to keep the trails stable. Groomer Operators are out daily trying to provide the best possible trails.
Megan Frances Heuninckand husband shared these photos with us of their trip. Megan said “The trails were mint- we drove in during that last snow storm so we were able to travel on fresh groomed trails. We had a great time. It was my first time but my husband has been several times”
Thank you so much for sharing your photos and comments Megan! So glad your first trip to Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula was a good one!
It should be noted that trails are currently rated as anywhere from fair to good depending on the exact location. There are areas of exposed rocks etc due to low snow cover. Please ride these early season conditions with caution ⚠️ AND get the snow dances going!!
