MUNISING AREA UPDATE via Alger County SORVA – 3/23

TRAIL REPORT – Monday, 03/23/2020
GREAT TRAILS BUT SOCIAL DISTANCING REQUIRED!

Overall trail conditions are good to very good. All of the Main Trails have been groomed and are holding a near perfect condition. Trail 8 North of Shingleton has grooming be finished up tonight with operations then on hold. We still have a very good base overall with great late season riding conditions. Near the towns we have thin snow on trails running along the roadways. Check Fuel and Food stops if heading out. There are questions coming in with Executive Order 2020-21 and snowmobiling the we cannot answer but reference Section 7.Exceptions/a./1. of the order. (copied in the detailed report) Be Safe!

MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails – 3/23

We regret to inform everyone that between the announcement by our governor today and a week of warm weather coming up that we are ending our grooming operations for this season. That does not mean the trail is closed. It is still open until 4/1. It just means you will not see our die hard operators out on the trail until next season. Our gas stations will still be open. Our restaurants have been ceasing operations. Call ahead or check their Facebook pages to find out if they are open. We will start prepping for summer maintenance and getting ready for next season! We do have one HUGE favor to ask of all of you. When things return to normal, PLEASE visit our sponsoring businesses and thank them by buying their products, food, and gas and help get them back on their feet again so they will be there for you next season! Any little bit helps! Stay safe and thank you for the great season!

Any rainfall totals? My basement sprung some new leaks . And what flash floods in Iron County? A 1:45am question. 🌊

11.7 miles NE of Crystal Falls on the west Branch of the Fence River—-1.02”

Missed everything as usual in Marquette.

2 S Baraga.... I have a 12 hour total of 0.91 inches, so far.

Rained in Manistique sometime between 3AM and 6AM but hardly registered in the rain gauge

Megan Impson are you sending is this stuff?

2 S Baraga... was rocking here a few minutes ago. Lots thunder, lightning and heavy rain. Winds were blowing, but nothing severe, at least at the house. I got a quick 0.30" of rain.

Here at Perkins Park & Campground in a camper. I’m camp host, warned all my campers to get in and be safe. How severe does it look like it’ll be over this way?

Has it stopped over there yet? We're on the first bubble at 3 inches. Twomore groupings of storm coming. Megan Impson? Is Duluth still floating or submerged?

US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan Will these storms make it as far east as Newberry or the EUP or are they expected to die out?
