Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 03/17

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 3/17

Lots of messages in regards to whether or not grooming will continue…..

Here are the words from the Keweenaw Snowmobile Club’s Trail Boss Buzzy, “Tuesday morning and the groomers are getting some much needed TLC. We will take advantage of a slight lull in snowmobile traffic to do so me routine maintenance on our fleet. Three groomers will be on the trails this afternoon. Mohawk to Toivola. Mohawk to high rock and Brock way, and the third one where needed. We have some more snow coming but I plan to suspend day time grooming and just groom later afternoons. However if sled traffic warrants it we will return to our regular routine. I suspect trails will hold up longer with the lower sled traffic and cooler nights. Our crew of operators are just as bummed as the hardy last shedders but we have only the virus to blame. Bring your own lunch and refreshments and enjoy our trails. Please remember only ten sleds in a group!!!”

Adam Garvey shared this photo with us earlier today and Adam said, “Overall great freshly groomed trails today, lac la Belle loop isnt groomed, but there is nothinng open there anyways and road is bare, Couple very icy corners under the snow on Eagles loop, especially right by the intersection to eagle harbor, never passed another sled or seen any other tracks today”
