Baldwin Area Trail Report – Trailriders Snowmobile Club – 02/14

BALDWIN AREA UPDATE via Trailriders Snowmobile Club – 2/14

Here’s the weekend update.

We have all four groomers out and preparing our trails for the busy weekend. Trails range from poor to excellent depending on where you are. North of Baldwin will be your best bet, but traffic will be heavy.

There is a rough frozen water hazard which is ungroomed just north of 40th Avenue in Newaygo County. Sleds can get through but it is rough.

On trail 3 West of Osborne Road near Big Star Lake there is a mile and 1/2 of ungroomed trail due to mud. It’s frozen and you can get through, but it is rough.

Trail 19 is good to Crystal Valley and deteriorates as you get west. The gates may be closed between the Eagles and Hart if conditions worsen. STAY ON THE TRAIL AND IF THE GATES ARE CLOSED, TURN AROUND.

Trails north of Baldwin are in great shape. Especially the 325 trail west towards Timber Creek.

Please ride responsibly this weekend. Our law enforcement partners will be out in FULL force and are writing tickets with zero tolerance for no trail permits, trespassing, and reckless riding. Be careful and stay to the right.

Thank you for choosing our trail system to ride. We enjoy having you support our communities. If you like what you see, please join our club. Join us on the 29th for our club meeting.

Be sure to post your pictures in our sign thread of your adventures this weekend. Who can get all of our green signs this weekend?
