KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – 12/11

The last two days snowfall and cold temps has certainly helped even more with snowmobile conditions here in Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula!

Totals from www.keweenawcountyonline show 20 plus inches have fallen….. more in other areas too!

The trail cams can be found on www.johndee.com
and the two pictured are courtesy of M&M Power Sports and The Trailside Lodge. Whether it’s a new sled 😳, parts or gear – be sure to checkout M&M Power Sports conveniently located right by the Bridge/Ramada Parking lot area and along the trail. Looking for lodging ….. The Trailside Lidge is conveniently located right on Trail 17!

It can still be considered early season conditions in some areas so, please ride with caution.

🚫 Trail 3 from Dollar Bay to Lake Linden and the Freda Loop ( south of the bridge in Houghton/Hancock) will be closed ALL season. This is due to the extensive flood damage from the Fathers Day Storms

🚫 Trail 133 is closed until a reroute can be found

🚫 Trail 134/135 are temporarily closed due to logging

🚫 The bridge has still not been opened for snowmobile crossing – hopefully this will open shortly after the 15th. It is important to note this is the ONLY way to get from the areas of South Range, Toivola, Twin Lakes etc UP to Hancock, Calumet, Phoenix, Gay, Eagle River, Eagle Harbor, Copper Harbor etc

Keep the snow dances going!
