Ironwood Trail Report – Gogebic Range Trail Authority – 12/12

IRONWOOD / WESTERN U.P. UPDATE via Gogebic Range Trail Authority – ORV & Snowmobile Club – 12/12

Pics from President Steve last night working our beloved New Holland Agriculture T7-210 and Arrowhead Groomers. Trail 2 was groomed from Ironwood to Marenisco last night. Trails are in amazing shape, almost all wet spots are gone and the few we have left are tiny. Get up and ride this weekend or come help!!

Help! Saturday we are trying to open trail 160 and need volunteers for our Trail 160 Storm Clearing To Open Trail event. FREE rooms for VOLUNTEERS who can help. Snow is deep!

While one groomer is down our crew relishes the opportunity to show what the team we call our friends can do. Our Tucker was out 160 yesterday grooming and reopened the final closed section, hats off to Jerry, Joe & Scott for busting butt to get it done. They then signed a 1.5 mile plowed section for logging, if you see caution tape and logging signs slow down! Plowed roads should never be travelled faster than 25MPH. They swapped crews out by Saxon Harbor and groomed back to Ironwood and Bessemer. Then over night Matt Rogers took the rig down to Marenisco and he remains on the return route. Another driver will relieve him in Wakefield to head back to Ironwood to groom the towns. He will bring it back to the barn for a few hours thaw for greasing/inspection before it heads out tonight for the weekend. We are running about 30-35 hours straight without shutting down. Why? We really like folks riding here supporting our club, sponsors and communities. Join us! ... See MoreSee Less

You guys rock, thanks! See you Thursday, looking forward to “sampling” your work:-)

We had a curious coyote following us on trail 160

I seen the coyote when I was on 160 yesterday just before I met up with the groomer. Great job you guys have done

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, Clubs, Groomers, Volunteers you all have my highest respect for making beautiful trails for us to ride on. Thanks!

Thank you to everyone that works so hard to keep the trails great. See you in February 👍🏻

That's a whole lot of Tuckerin'! Good job guys, thanks! 👍

What a team and a workhorse of a machine!

Good job guys! You are a true asset to our area.

Thank you for all you guys do!

It is smart to keep the trails nice. There are a few areas that do not care. I just keep looking for the area with the best kept trails

Thanks for the real report. Folks have no idea what it takes to keep a trail system going . And volunteers at that ! Thank you all

$45 for a warm bed in the middle of the western UP for a night is a pretty good deal

I’m curious about rates as well

That is really cool!!!

Awesome!!

Now only if the gas station had pay at the pump or stayed open.

Awesome!!!

Rates?

Pssst Ironwood...we finally are improving way finding along the trail! If you're looking to #snowmobileironwood make your first stop www.travelironwood.com

This local tourism bureau had stepped up their support of Motorized recreation and together we are working to improve all trails for everyone. And show you how amazing Ironwood is to experience, so many shops!

Thank you to Kami and Brian Haffenbredl for all of their work for us the past 7 weeks. Kami knocked the signs out for us (among many other tasks!) and her Husband groomed hundreds of miles and then made us aware that he can fix anything. Like really really good, the right way. And we had lots of stuff for him to fix. So often folks walk into this orginization not knowing if they'll make a difference only to find out they can move mountains leaving a gigantic positive impact. Volunteer today!! Travel Ironwood

Trails groomed up SO NICE last night. With our T7 down and out for two weeks the club is begining 24/7 grooming - groomers will be out in daylight! The section between Bessemer and Wakefield is looking the best it has all season. Hurley, WI to the end of our portion of trail 8 was groomed over night. The 10' drag swap behind the Tucker was long over due, it does amazing with it! Thank you to groomer man Dan for sharpening the drag skegs, wiring up an adapter to fit our Tucker and hooking it up for the late night groomer run. Join us, your time is so valuable and twice as valuable to us! Up coming fundraiser this Saturday Night Gogebic Range Trail Authority Meat Raffle!!! ... See MoreSee Less
