MLK WEEKEND UPDATE: The plan is to send groomers out nightly but we will have to assess snow conditions each night. We have snow to ride but not a lot to work with on the groomer. There is more snow south toward gaylord than north. It’s going to be a great weekend to be here!!!

This weekend is one of the busiest weekends of the season. Please be patient at your local businesses and on the trail. WE DO NOT want another Friday of MLK weekend like we had last year. (5 deaths in 24 hours) Please please ride safely. If you encounter a groomer proceed with extreme caution, as Grand Marais groomers say, “it’s not the groomer that is gonna get hurt.”

Thanks Groomer Warren for laying down that white ribbon on Trail 99 last night!

Trail 9 south of Cheboygan couple trees laying across the trail will need a saw to cut up as they are really long.

They say it slows people down. Well people who know about it maybe. When it’s snowing you can’t see nothing out there a yellow sign you will see that a curve is coming.

I blame for the most part drinking driving and going to fast period

Thanks for all the hard work!

Thank you for all that you do.

I blame the deaths on the dnr for removing arrows on the trails

UPDATE to the UPDATE: Our system received 2-4 inches of good system snow last night. This will help build that base. Right now temps are hovering around 30. We are going to start sending groomers out when the temps get below 27. Trail 99 will be groomed tonight and we will assess if we can get on the other trails tonight/tomorrow. LET'S GET THIS SEASON STARTED (AGAIN). This weekend is gonna be a busy one, please ride safe! ... See MoreSee Less

Snow reports are all over the map. We have anywhere from 2 inches to 10 inches of new snow. The railroad grade is ungroomable due to lack of snow but trail 99 to black mountain will be panned today. Be safe and enjoy the snow. ☃️ ... See MoreSee Less
