Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 12/01

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE – via Krupps Resort

Snow drifts from couple feet to 14" on the ground – hard to tell what the correct snowfall amount is right now – will update that soon. Before this storm we the count was 65" fallen snow. It’s still coming down, roads are slick so take your time. They are out there making sure trails get cleaned up from the last storm so watch for fallen tree across the trails. Oh yeah, HAPPY DECEMBER 1ST!!!!

Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula

Power Dam Falls is located in Baraga County. This off-the-beaten-path falls can be found by turning west on Power Dam Rd (easy to miss because the sign is faded) off of US-41. Follow the road, cross the railroad tracks, and you'll see a sign for the falls. Parking located directly next to the falls and the old abandoned powerhouse. There's a picnic table to sit & take in the sights & sounds of this little gem of a waterfall....

When my Uncle worked there we use to go & have supper with him(& go swimming too). Always a good time.

We were there last September. Beautiful!

Nice, need to check it out.

As kids we were there all the time. Big hole, little hole, mitten hole and the bear hole, all done from the Power Dam, the Falls River.

Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula

Solo travelers can set their own pace and be as ambitious or as laid-back as they want. If they’re walking by a hole-in-the-wall diner and feel like stopping in for breakfast, they can be deliciously self-indulgent and do it.

Whether you’re a history buff, an adventure enthusiast, or just someone who wants to travel on their own terms, the Keweenaw has a myriad of options....check some of them out here:

I had one, actually used it to mow. Must have been 1996/97.

They actually made boats in the 70’s under the title of Arctic Enterprises. Boats were made in MN by a company called “Silverline”.

Thank you. We know that many of you think of us when you aren't here and we just want to say thanks to all of our friends. This came in this morning from Brett Murphy who snowmobiles here just saying he can't wait to see us this winter. We are so grateful for all of you. ... See MoreSee Less
