This one call I never want to miss!

Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula

Back in my day....we had to walk 10 miles to school...in three feet of snow...and we loved every minute of it because we were wearing moon boots!

If you grew up in the 1970s/80s you might remember moon boots! Did you own a pair of moon boots?! Did you feel like you were an astronaut bounding through the snow?

Speaking of moon boots, if you need new winter gear, check out our shopping directory here:

Remember using bread bags as well?

These were necessary in Northern Maine at -30!!!

My friends had Wonder Bread bags as liners and I was jealous. I had Home Pride brand, not nearly as cool ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Yep! The early 80’s in Calumet!

I had these same boots!

I had a pair as a grown up.My boys probably wore them.

Yes I remember, they were warm and cozy. I use to walk around in house with them on as if they were slippers!

Just like those I had...

Lost one playing in a snow bank across from Teal Lake in Negaunee....unrecoverable until spring. Walked back to my grandma’s in one sock!

I loved my blue moon boots with a white star. I put them on layaway at Kinney Shoes in the CC Mall in Houghton. Every Friday night I would babysit and earn $5 and then apply it to the layaway. It took me seven weeks to get my boots!!

Moon boots were so much more amazing and stylish than the boots I had as a kid! Mine went over my shoes, and didn't keep my feet warm at all. ๐Ÿ™„ 1960s

I had to wear a pair in the 90s, so I popped a hole in them. My dad wrapped it in duct tape and I had to wear them the rest of the winter

Snowmobile boots too! Kept your feet warm! ♥๏ธ

Yep loved my moon boots!

I still wear mine volunteering at the SISU ski fest in Ironwood!!!

Best boots ever! I loved mine!

I still have mine!

My mom also put bread bags on our feet before putting them in the boots!!!!

You had moon boots????!!!!!all we had were swampers

Ah those boots bring back memories.

My son wore them he loved them.

not sure when your day was but when I was a kid if you had these you got made fun of for the rest of your childhood.

I had that exact pair!!

Sorel’s. Still have boots I wore at Tech.

Bread bags and moon boots, never had cold feet!
