Grand Marais Trail Report – Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – 03/25

GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc.

East on 8 for my last run of the season. Trail has lots of life left in it. Wet in just one place and no dirt in any corners Want to thank everyone at Sno Trails for having patience with me as I made my way through my second year. Great bunch of people! Groomer Dan

Ran the west trail Sun. Night. 8 west, 89 and 88 "the grade". The grade is smooth and hard, for the most part, trails 8 and 89 are smooth. However, due to being in shade most of the day, there are some rough and choppy corners. They set up after dark and were to hard to cut down. Be alert in the twelve mile beach area there are several big ruts/pot holes. 4th pic-88 "the grade"; last pic-89 stopped to discuss trail conditions with sledders. Groomer Phil

Groomed South Sunday night late. 8, 443 and 88. Trail was moguled on the inside corners to start everything flattened up good. 1st photo is of a beautiful moon on the McCloud grade. Be safe and ride right. Groomer Will

Our members continue to care about your safety! After having lost two EMT’s because of the decisions of PRNL leadership, every member has had to work harder to fill the void. Members continue to seek answers and find solutions! Thank you Bill Egerer for your dedication, insight and integrity! We hope the Park Management gives careful consideration to these suggestions and quickly resolves this matter!

I hope your EMS providers are more professional then the service in Curtis....fourth of July parade we had a ankle injury...couldn’t find crutches anywhere in the town.lady at grocery store said maybe the EMS service could steer you in the right direction ...Went up to male dark haired guy ...smoking a cigarette in the ambulance...asked if he had or knew where we could get an ace wrap....or crutches....he never looked at me....blew smoke out of his mouth while saying only “negative” to me...I was a paramedic for 20 years and an ER nurse for 25...luckily I knew what...”negative” meant...Hopefully wont have to use that service...
