Ironwood Trail Report – Gogebic Range Trail Authority – 02/10

The scenic 160 is being groomed today. 25 miles out to Lake Superior with scenic vistas of N/S Bald Mountain and Superior falls!

<>

Groomer remains out today and we’re seeing lots of happy sledders! Excellent trail conditions! We’ve stopped for Lunch at Two Fat Guys Bar And Grill here seeing lots of riders participating in the 2019 Moonshine Riders Poker Run!! Heading down 11S after a quick break! #runfastdrinklast

<>

Some riders enjoyed the fresh snow on trail 160 yesterday! They had excellent trails until the evening where they said trail 8 was rough. It was groomed last night and so was 160! Groomers will be on the trails today, some health and personnel issues is forcing us to run. Ride safe, ride right, ride sober!

New Trail Report up featuring Google Map GPS points of water falls & scenic vistas, ride like a local!!!

Just want to say thank you Steve 'wfo' Hamilton and Jerry Nezworski. I was extremely honored to have accepted this great gift. I think all of our volunteers do what they can for this great club. Being a little (okay a lot) choked up as you were presenting this to me, no words were able to be spoken at the presentation. Thank you again guys.

Thank you ALL!!

Good work

Way to go MI-TRALE and Linda! Her and her husband run Running Bear Resort in Paulding. They are tremendous assets to our local trail riding community!!ONTONAGON - Michigan Trails and Recreation Alliance of Land and the Environment received a grant for $363,630 to complete upcoming trail projects near Bergland. Linda Schulz, secretary and special project coordinator for MI-TRALE, said the money will be used to replace an "old iron beam bridge" that collapsed in 2013 and a couple other projects scheduled for 2019. MI-TRALE has been applying for grants to repair the bridge ever since it became unusable in 2013. The Bridge is located East of Bergland on the West Branch of the Ontonagon River, the new bridge will connect the Pioneer Trail to the south bound route. It will eliminate a couple miles of road and highway travel for trail users. The bridge will also enable trail users to stay on public land. The approximately $250,000 project makes use of funds originating from license and permit fees received in Michigan. Coleman Engineering Company in Ironwood along with MI-TRALE are managing the project. ... See MoreSee Less
