Antrim County Trail Report – Jordan Valley Trails Council – 02/08

Happy Friday!!! Groomer Mike just rolled in from a long morning in the groomer trying to find his way along the trails! Grooming will continue as conditions and snow warrant. After the receiving a small amount of rain/freezing rain it finally converted to ❄❄❄!!! Overall trails are in fair to good condition with an ice base, roughly 6-8" of snow has fell over the trail system and it is much needed! All trails will continue to have some random unnormal rough area due to recent thaw and the water finding its way to unexpected places. Reports today were that water holes were starting to freeze up well again and hopefully with some snow mixed in that will take place today! Please use extreme caution on trails as we still have a car on trail 4 near penny bridge (that will be there for an extended period of time), water holes, rough areas and possibly downed tree limbs from the ice storm. If your riding and find an unsafe condition please contact us here by message or email jordanvalleytrailscouncil@gmail.com. Safety is #1 importance on all trails! Enjoy your weekend a ride safe!

Ok Folks I took a ride through the Jordan Valley yesterday and it looks like the county hasn't done a thing in there at all this year. We need to flood the Antrim County Road Commission with complaints. The road needs grading big time and as you can see in the photo there is a 3-4 ft creek running across the road and just eating away at it by Pinney Bridge Campground if that isn't repaired you won't even be able to hike or bike through there let alone snowmobile come winter. This is a county road so it is up to them to repair it.
So, please send your complaints to the Antrim County Road Commission, lets get the Valley back in shape so everyone can enjoy this gem.

They need to get their butts into gear.winter time is the only time I get down there to see the family campground&bridge.

Study the history of county and dnr attitudes toward the road. Been more than one attempt to close the road completely except for hiking. Also most road flooding caused by beaver dams and plugged culverts. But don't touch them or dnr will ticket you.

Pretty sure this is a seasonal road. Sounds like it’s been like this for a few years now.

This spring the husband and I took a brief ride into the Jordan Valley. We picked up quite a few beer cans along with the trash that was left along side the "snowmobile trail". I was very disgusted by those morons.

Antrim County Road Commission doesn’t care about any roads east of M66 they would rather kiss butts to everyone that lives around and along Torch Lake cause if you follow there Facebook page that’s where there always at

Almost rolled my sled there last year

Dawn LaVanway this is in your district can you bring this up to the road commission. I see they have been working on seasonal roads in many other areas.

Never going to happen if they had it their way the valley would be completely shut down to vehicles.... They don't care about it 😂

Lol thats funny Russell Benz
