GRAND MARAIS UPDATE via Grand Marais Sno-Trails Assoc. – Groomer Report: Went west again tonight. Saw a lot of people out having fun. Trails looking good. I widened and smoothed out the parking lot at the log slide. Got everything else smoothed out pretty good too. Stay safe out there and have fun. – Groomer Kevin

I hope to never ever see a match to this glove on any trail. EVER! I am mad because some people still don't understand the meaning of the stay right signs. I am mad because people still brag about how fast their sled is. I am mad because people still gauge their trips by how many miles they put on in a day. All of these senseless things increase the possibility of more of these gloves found on the trail. What will it take for people to understand that? 2 people lost their lives on our trail Monday night. Our deepest sympathies go out to the families of the individuals and our deepest thanks to those who rushed out and tried their best to save these individuals. This was preventable on all kinds of levels. Please use more common sense! Ride RIGHT, ride SAFE, and live to ride again.

too much speed - too much liquor.. .

People need to slow the f**K down! It's not a race to see who can beat who to the next stop. It's not about who can go faster. It's about enjoying the outdoors and enjoying a trip with your family and friends. I have a 12 year old who would love to ride but me as a Mom is scared to death to let him ride the trails cause of the ones who have NO respect for others on the trail. There are times I am even scared to go around a corner cause of others. I am getting to the point I don't even want to ride anymore. And it's not just sleds it's even the dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. I hope people will start to slow down and enjoy life, cause it can come to an end at anytime.

Very sad people died but it is definitely a common thing do you want to put on miles during a ride or there is no point in the ride you can use your head around the corners and still put miles on in a safe manner

I rode Saturday passed the groomer coming towards me then 15 sleds. The tracks were from inside corner to inside corner. Thank God I caught them on a straight. But then I got ran off the trail and had to bail off my sled because of the banks by one guy in a group of seven that would not move over. My sled is not 30” wide fool. Thank God I was only going ten.

I was up on those same trails that day and there were hardly anyone riding this is ridiculous I've had more close calls the last 2 years coming around blind corners and someone is on my side of the trail thinking they are invisible its taking the enjoyment of of riding all together

It's reasons like this that I will probably never take a trip to the UP for sledding. Makes me sad but I'm not willing to risk My Wife, my daughter, nor my life for it.

I ride for the smiles! It's important to enjoy your ride, safely, not to see how fast you can do it in. And create a unsafe environment for all involved...

It’s sad ! This is why I’m moving my family rides out of the area. I’ve meet some wonderful people and great riders that ride this area. And business along the trails are the best. But we’ve have had one to many close calls from the ram rods that are inconsiderate. The quest for good snow and trails have brought the masses which has brought this kind of recklessness. 😢

Well said..

Just curious...How many deaths is that this year in Michigan on sleds? Sad...

Well said. I’m bringing my 4 kids into the sport. Caboose and a young rider, I don’t need asses

Am I missing the mark here? What does a glove have to do with people getting hurt or riding too fast? This is littering?

Agreed !

Normally you can avoid the lunatics during the week! Weve been uo since monday and havent seen any lunatics yet my best guess is theyll start arriving thursday night and all day friday.
