Seney Trail Report – 12/09

Hello Everyone!

We groomed slash panned Trail 43/8 Friday to the Bear Trap. In some places there is probably 16 inches of snow and other places there was probably 8 to 10 inches. There is one detour up on the grade, the same one as last year. We are still packing in the base. It is still thin. We groomed Petrol Rd. into Melstrand. There is one water hole on Petrol Rd. You have to ride thru it and it’s probably at least 10” deep and 6’ long. On Tuesday we got 10” of snow in some spots, the snow got mixed in places with the sand so we had to cut deep enough into the trail to get the chatter bumps out left from the ATV’s. Friday there was 4-5” of new snow and we panned and packed in where it was set nice from our Tuesday efforts. We had to groom in a few places that needed some structural cutting. We pushed back the snow from the road crossings to set the standard for the season. If maintained it should help with keeping the snowmobilers from dragging the snow back into the roads.
We still need more snow, it was pretty busy here at the station all day Saturday.

There’s a slight warmup this coming up weekend so watch the reports.

I will keep you updated as much as possible on here and if you’re on Facebook follow Seney Snowmobile Association or Mater’s Stop N Go for updates as well! Hope to see you all soon!
