Keweenaw Peninsula Trail Report – 04/15

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Keweenaw Trail Reports – Leif Gustafson just checked in with us and said conditions are awesome! He rode from Houghton to Toivola and met someone that came up from Mass City. At least a foot of fresh powder to break trail through! I don’t think everyone agrees but I LOVE this kinda spring!…

KEWEENAW PENINSULA UPDATE via Western & Southern UP Snow Reports – Careful out there. Estimate in twin lakes… almost 10 inches already and still coming. Schools are announcing closings….

Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula

Houghton County's Otter Lake, south of Chassell, is a popular place for fishing and canoeing. It has brook trout, walleye, perch, and northern pike in its pristine 890 acres. As you can tell in the clip, due to the generous amount of rain we've received, the water level is quite high.

There is public access and a boat launch. Several resorts are located on this lake. It's also just a nice place to take in the scenery.

It is beautiful. I remember it well. Hope to fish there sometime.

The water is really high. Any flooding at your home?
