Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/18

It’s a sunny and dry sunday morning and already 33 degrees. Still very icy and hard out there. There were 3 die hards that I saw over at the Swamp yesterday, I don’t know how they did it but those were the only sleds I saw all day Saturday.

I did hear of people riding north and west of here and that there were many sleds up at the settings for the Winterfest. So it sounded like they had a good crowd for their event. I looked for pictures from there but couldn’t find any so once again I have no pics today.

My brother went to the Vintage oval track races in Marion yesterday and he said that was pretty good and now that I have said that I remember that he sent me a pic from there so I will post that one below here. Weather outlook for this coming week certainly isn’t looking any better than what we have had. I think everyone better be ready for a ride in the future because at the rate we are going I would bet we get at least one storm sometime in March and if you want to ride you should be loaded up and ready to head to whatever area is lucky enough to get the snow because I don’t believe it will last very long.

I had 2 different readers write me this week, one from New York and one from Vermont and they both say that it has been a bad year for them. Then on the other hand Vinnie from Montana called me and said they have had a banner year with 3 and 4 feet of snow…..that sounds like my kind of place. Also thanks to the many that have stopped in for a visit on their way to or from the U.P. Thanks for checking in. Pete
