Bond Falls Scenic Site Repairs : Info below
Your support is needed, there is a template letter I ask you to complete and please send in

The DNR is submitting funding to obtain engineering services and construction funding to make needed repairs to the concrete stairs/viewing platform structure at Bond Falls Scenic Site and they need support!

The stair structure and associated observation platforms have exceeded their useful lifespan and are in need of replacement. Current conditions include unsupported and deteriorated footings; progressively sloping treads and landings treads, risers, railings, and landings that do not meet state and federal standards and code requirements. Over the past few years, the structure has been maintained and repaired in order to keep the trails and overlooks open to visitors, but this approach cannot continue due to deteriorating structural conditions. Soon, the DNR will need to close portions of the structure due to unsafe conditions. The project will prevent closing overlooks and the stair structure.

The project scope of work includes the assessment of existing structures at the park, including stair structures and associated scenic overlooks. It will include the design and engineering of renovations and replacements as necessary to replace the existing stair structure and associated observation platforms. The stair and observation platforms will be designed to meet all applicable state and federal codes and standards and is intended to increase accessibility by providing uniform risers and treads; providing a structure with consistent and code and standard compliant slopes, hand rails, benches, landings, and other features which maximize accessibility in the fact of severe topography. Lastly, the scope of the work may include a proposed enhancement of the visitor experience by providing engineering, design, and construction of each approach to the stair structure and associated viewing structures.

This should be made electronically to send right from fb to the dnr. An online petition .

I don't think online petitions are considered to be legal.

CAUTION!!! TRAIL #2 25 miles west of Watersmeet The water spot has grown, we are working to get it filled and froze over. Please use caution! Our driver worked very hard trying to make this a safe crossing. Came close to tipping the groomer over. Thank you Jack!! ... See MoreSee Less

What’s causing this. Beaver dam?

Scott Zywicki

We came through here Friday, and it was bad. Came up on it with no warning. Pink ribbon on each side of the hazard is not an adequate means of warning folks of this hazard. Why isnt there a caution ahead sign on each side of this water hole?

Pallets work well and still allow water to flow.

Jarrod Boesen

Steve Koch watched him pull out of it!

What are you filling with?

This was what it looked like at 11:34 last night. Dangerous for sure. Glad that the people that were in my group did not have any issues. Hope that it gets repaired before anyone gets hurt. Stay safe out there!

Brent Bublitz

Fill it with bales of straw. Will hold up groomer and sleds and freeze. Seen it done a few times. Just an idea.

My wife and i came through here on Saturday and it is a dangerous spot for sure, and by the looks of it there had already been a couple crashes there, and a couple sent into the trees. Thank you for marking with the signage. We were heading east stopped about 10 yards before the hole, and oncoming traffic didn't see the spot until the last minute due to the fact that it at the end of the curve. Which caused them to get close to hitting us after they went through. So thank you and keep up the good work.

Came across today in front of the groomer...yikes for sure!

Is this somewhere between Rogers Bar and US- 2

Is this somewhere between Roger Bar and west to US- 2 or Watersmeet and Rogers Bar? Plannig to head to Rogers form Marinesco but wont be if I have to go through that.
