Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 02/11

WTF, (whats this falling) from the sky. Will wonders never cease? I looked outside this morning at home about 4 and there was no new snow. I woke up at 7:30 and cars were covered with about 3 inches of new snow along with the same amount here in Frederic and its still falling. Sure is nice to see some new snow finally but of course once again more fell downstate in the Kzoo area then we had up here. Still yesterday was a very sled busy town around Frederic. The united way fun run out of the swamp had about 60 sleds in it and they ended up at Tinkers Junction last night to finish up the ride. They all had a great ride. There were many other large groups of sleds that stopped in too. So all in all with the light amount of snow we have people were still having a good time out there. The DNR has not posted the fatalaties anywhere that I can find but I believe its up to about 8 or 9 deaths this season and there was one on trail 7 just south of Gaylord on Friday night. To fast and into the trees sent a rider from Flushing home dead. Snowmobiler Killed on Trail 7, south of Gaylord Please remember to ride safely. Pics below all from Saturday & top pic is Mohawk John who finally made it in for the first time this season. He has traded in his Mohawk for a Go Pro, so now he is Go Pro John.. Thanks for checking in. Pete
