Frederic / Gaylord Area Trail Report – Sledheads of Frederic – 12/10
It’s high noon on a lightly snowing sunday morning in Frederic, just had the first 3 sleds of the day in.
They had started out at the far parking lot about 12 miles west of grayling and said snow was thin but that they were still having a decent ride. They said the worst part was right here by Frederic which is understandable with all the reports of better snow north and west. Sled traffic was pretty steady here yesterday until later in the afternoon when the sun was out and the riders just seemed to be elsewhere.
Still not a bad start to the season even though I still say riders should have waited a bit longer. I can say that all I want but there the itch is pretty heavy for those that just cant stand it any longer and have to do it no matter what.
Even I was tempted to put up the closed sign yesterday morning and go with Mark & Marissa but didn’t…..Now I wish I would have…..Pics below from yesterday including the 3 Greeks that stopped in on one of their annual visits. I should have gave them the Greek flag to hold up, maybe next time. Its supposed to stay cold all week with some good predictions for more snow so maybe we will really get to keep what we have so far. Thanks for checking in. Pete

JORDAN VALLEY AREA UPDATE via Jordan Valley Trails Council >> Current condition’s are 32* and drizzle. Today’s warmup is melting/settling the snow quickly. We’ll regroup Friday as temps drop and hope the snowfall comes back. Prior to this warmup, trails had 2-5” of compacted snow on them, which should give us a good solid base going forward. In just 2 days, snow has dropped 2+” according to the National Weather Service snow gauge. The Antrim County Snowmobile Club snow gauge is sitting at 4” #jordanvalley#gaylord#snowphotos...
