As of 12/8/17, the Keweenaw Peninsula has 17″ of snow on the ground and has received a total of 62″ of snow for the season.
Snowmobile trails from Twin Lakes to Copper Harbor are officially open but are in poor condition. The groomers are out opening trails and clearing hazards.
Any trail usage should be done with extreme caution as there is low snow cover, rocks, stumps, branches, wet areas and hazards that have not been identified.
The Portage lift Bridge will not be open for snowmobile traffic before December 16th. We will post when it is open.
Trail 124 and 132W are temporarily closed for logging.
Remember when you’re out on the trails to watch out for the groomers. They have the right away.
