Traverse City Trail Report – Blue Sky Snowmobile Rentals – 12/27
Trail report for Boardman Valley. – Well, I wish I had a better report to post. Monday’s 50s have taken a toll on the trails, along with 40mph winds that have diminished the snow on the trails. I had one of my guides go out for a short ride today. As you can see from the photos, the trail has a very thin base now. The corners are down to dirt snow mix and icy. There are several down trees throughout the trail so if you choose to ride, use caution. The first photo is by Marker 2. As you can see the intersections and all corners are thin. There are also areas of standing water which is turning to ice. Along with all of that some idiot decided it was a good idea to drive a truck down the trail. This is not good news for the next few days. There is a little snow expected over the next few days, hopefully Mother Nature will give us a burst of snow. The positive side to this is that the base with be hard and great for grooming once we get more snow. If you are out on the trails use caution. I would rate them as poor today.
