Paradise Area Trail Report – 02/13

February 13, 2016
Minus 6 degrees this morning and snowing. Got another 3 inches or so last night too. I want to correct myself from yesterday. I said it looks like we got around 10 inches the night before, turns out it was more like 12-14. It took me 6 hours to dig out yesterday. Now on to other business…

Groomer Gerald headed to Pine Stump ( Trail # 8 ) yesterday but had to turn around about 3/4 of the way there. He experienced a total loss of power….great 2 out of 3 groomers down!!! We had to send the only groomer we had running to go get him. Turns out we think it was a fuel gelling problem.

The reason I mention this is the Falls trail didn`t get groomed last night and the south trail was missed too. The only trail that got groomed was the Point trail.

Talk about frustrating!!!! We have about 120 miles of trail to groom in the Night Riders area which takes about 34 total hours to hit. As you can see there is not enough time in the day as it is….and we only had one groomer runnin. We do have 2 running now. I am scheduled to run the Falls trail tonight, not sure what else is on tap though.

The groomer guru from Minnesota got here late yesterday afternoon and worked on our one groomer for 8 hours…this is the one with the electrical demons….and couldn`t figure it out.

He is back out at the barn this morning. Lets cross our fingers he can get this thing goin!!! GGGRRRR!!! If I could swear on this report you`d read some sailor language for sure!!
So…with about 16 inches of fresh snow in the last couple days, once we can get these machines to cooperate, we`ll have everything in great shape.

Please be patient with us, all these groomer problems are out of our contol. I`m sure I`ll pull out that excellent word yet this season.

Groomer Chris
