FREDERIC – GAYLORD AREA UPDATE via Sledheads of Frederic , Michigan Snowmobiling >> 02/28 I have said it before, I think this might be it…… it got up to 49 on friday but at least now its 23 on a cloudy saturday in Frederic at 9;30. Roads are very drty but still snow on the trails. 2 pics below show how much my parking lot changed since yesterday. I have seen sleds out already and the west parking lot on 72 had 4 trucks already this morning. You just have to make the best of what we do have. The Darkside Adventures guys have passed the 2200 mile mark and still have 2 days of riding to go. What an adventure. I had a call a couple days ago from a guy and he said I have a question that might sound funny. He was in Mackinaw City by the big hot dog. His question was where is the bridge as it was his first time there. I said just go about a quarter mile north and you cant miss it. He was concerned about the dry road but I said you need to dry slide if you want to get to it. I hope he finally found it. Thats about it for today. Lets see how things work out. Still alot to melt off here in Frederic, Piles were huge and so very rock hard its still gonna take them a while to melt down. The good thing about all the snow was that it spread the riders out all thru the state which made for a much safer season. Even with that there were still 12 deaths with only 4 in the lower and the rest in the u.p.
