MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> 02/20 Got to love the UP weather. Started out the run just above freezing with temps dropping and conditions improving greatly, just to warm back up with freezing rain before the end of the run. Still have a flat trail, just not with the pretty smooth as glass pictures. We have great operators that recognize the changes and make adjustment in the way they groom to maximize what they get for what they are given. People may not understand the difference that as little as 3 degrees make, but we see it happen in real time and it can make things challenging. No matter what obstacles may appear, rest assured that groomer operators everywhere have the same goal. Making the best trail that can be made no matter what. The heaviest snow will be in parts of the north central U.P. and Keweenaw. Travel will be difficult in areas of heavier snow. Mainly snow is expected in the west, with a mix of snow and freezing rain over the central and east. The combination of blowing snow and snow will make travel very difficult in the Keweenaw. Elsewhere freezing drizzle and period of light snow will result in continued slick surfaces.
