CADILLAC AREA UPDATE via Coyote Crossing Resort >> 02/18 Ugly Weather Conditions are poor right now, as we’ve had warmer temps and got rain last night & this morning. Our base is likely still in place in the woods, but without fresh snow there will be nothing to lubricate sleds. We need 4-6” of fresh snow to make the trails in our area decent again. Mainly rain is expected Friday morning before transitioning to snow across the eastern U.P. and parts of far northern lower through the afternoon. A switch to all snow will likely hold off until later Friday night. Best chances for at least 2” of wet snow will come across the eastern U.P. and areas of northern lower along and north of M-68. Rain is expected to be the primary precip type south of M-68 at this time. What you need to know!
1) Winter Storm Warnings & Advisories from early Wednesday morning to Wednesday Evening. Most of the impact will be from 3am to 9am for Northern Michigan. For the list of counties and what you can expect, head here: www.9and10news.com/weather/latest-forecast/
2) U.P. and Tip of the Mitt will see the most snow. Some areas of Chippewa & Mackinac County could see 5-10" of snow!
3) Areas of the Northern Lower & Northern Central Lower could see a glaze of ice to .25" of ice accumulation.
4) Areas closer to Lake Michigan will stay rain and avoid issues.
