MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> 02/06 This weekend is shaping up to be an epic one! Full run last night with great results. Road crossings are getting love as we go. The county workers has been doing a great job keeping up with roads, so we are doing what we can to get the trail crossings smoothed out. It has been a few years since we have had to push back banks like these! Weather is looking warm next week, so take advantage of the trails this weekend! While much of the UP picks up an inch or less of snow, higher totals up to 1-3in will be possible over the far eastern UP. We are running minimal runs in order to keep the trail smooth and save the snow for the rest of the season. Trail is ice and is grooming out as such. We will keep doing the best we can with what we have to get through the end of the season. A few light snow showers will be possible in the higher terrain of the western half through tonight, with minimal accumulations less than an inch. Most locations will struggle to get above freezing today, with the exception of areas near Lake Michigan. A clipper will spread a mix of rain, snow, and freezing rain across the area this morning, changing to all rain from west to east as temperatures climb above freezing in the afternoon, reaching as high as the mid 50s in the west. A cold front then drops across the U.P. and brings another round of mixed precip tonight, changing to all snow towards Sunday morning. Generally expect minimal snow amounts across most of the U.P., but some spots in the Keweenaw and the east could pick up 1-3” through Sunday morning.
