Gaylord Bureau – November 25, 2025 The countdown is on! We’re patiently waiting for the snow to fly and the trails to open on December 1st (weather permitting). I haven’t put an update on because there’s so much snow and I’m plowing there’s 3 feet of snow around Sledheads and I haven’t even touched that yet. I will be plowing most of the day tomorrow. These guys sent me their picture they had called me and they stopped by there’s a lot of sleds out and about. I saw probably about a dozen in Frederick at the Swamp earlier. It’s now Friday night about 630 and I could stay here and plow all night probably this is crazy. Snow out ahead of this system will overspread northern Michigan from southwest to northeast starting this afternoon. Accumulating snow is expected tonight through Sunday morning before transitioning to lake effect snow showers Sunday afternoon. Heavy snowfall in the north to northwest wind snowbands as well as gusty winds in excess of 35-45 mph can cause low visibility, snowdrifts, and some power outages. Bottom line, it's gonna snow, and the wind will blow. Snow will start to accumulate tonight, esp. in NW Lower Michigan. Intense NW flow lake effect snow bands on Thanksgiving Day to lead to rapidly changing visibility (near-whiteouts at times) and road conditions over short distances, impacting major highways such as US-131 between Elmira and Fife Lake, and I-75 between Waters (Exit 270) and at least West Branch. Very gusty winds (30-40mph) to blow snow around and could knock branches out of trees, esp. in ice-storm affected areas. #miweather #gaylord #cadillac #benzie #traversecity #petoskey <> <>

– If you approach a groomer from behind, kindly wait for the operator to signal you to pass.
– Grooming can take place at any time during the day or night, so stay alert.
– Always ride on the right side of the trail.

Essentially, this is nearly the same map I shared previously. I just narrowed the ranges slightly. Shape is the exact same. I do think some lake enhancement from Lake Huron is possible, so, I highlighted that. Also, the higher elevations of the western U.P. COULD get slightly more. I'd say it's just a chance, but a big enough chance that I added it to the map.
This is just a fine, fine tune before the big event. Think of it as I just polished my Stingray before a car show 😛
