MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> 03/12 We did manage to groom on the east end last night but had the wheels down in many spots.Things are fading fast with the warm weather. without snow and colder Temps there isn’t much we can do with whats left of snow on the trail. Most snow will fall within a 6 hour period with moderate to heavy snow rates (0.5 to 1+ inch per hour) and quickly reduced visibilities down to 1/4 mile or less for a 2 to 4 hour period. Snow will end overnight into early Monday morning. The Monday morning commute could be impacted, especially in the east, mainly for roads that have not been treated/cleared yet. WEATHER UPDATE via US National Weather Service Marquette Michigan >> A storm system will quickly move through the area late this afternoon and tonight bringing accumulating snow to all of the U.P. Heavy snowfall rates and low visibilities could create difficult travel for a few hours. We were able to get the 2 spots that we avoided previously, all set and taken care of. Trail 8 was set up well and should make for great riding into the week. We were also able to widen the trail in some areas that were drifted heavily. Also, after grooming was completed in Chatham last night, a group of riders took it upon themselves to trespass onto private property adjacent to the trail. Just plain stupid when I could follow the tracks back to their rental. I messaged the place just to find out they left this morning. Not only is this reckless behavior absurdly stupid, it makes it hard for us to get permissions for more trails after people hear the horror stories of these blatant acts of idiocy. MUNISING AREA UPDATE via TNT Trenary Northern Trails >> We are making good progress on the trail and groomed from end to end tonight with the exception of a couple spots that we will hit Saturday to punch our way through without the drag along for the first pass and plowing some snow into a pesky wet area that plagues us early on every year. We still have a couple areas where heavy drifting has the trail a little narrow untill the Temps warm a little and the snow firms up enough to widen it without sinking to the bottom.
